Our urinary system consists of several organs, bladder, ureters, urethra and kidneys. Working together they put a great deal of effort for managing, regulating and eliminating waste in our urine. Urologic conditions and disease can effect anyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity or age. Whether incontinence, overactive bladder, infections or prostate issues, a urologist can advise the best course of action to return to urologic health.
Dr. Barrett-Harlow graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and behavioral biology and received her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Texas at Houston/MD Anderson Cancer Center, followed by a fellowship in sexual medicine and prosthetic urology at Urology Centers of Alabama. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Women in Urology, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the American Urological Association, and the International Society of Sexual Medicine. Additionally, she has co-authored several urology abstracts and publications and has presented at professional conferences in the U.S. and abroad.
Specializing in sexual medicine and prosthetic urology, Dr. Barrett-Harlow focuses on male incontinence, female urge and stress urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s Disease, and testosterone replacement.
